This past Sunday, I had the great pleasure to record the annual Christmas concert performed by the Sacred Music Society of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Forest Hills, NY. At the helm was Maestro David Close, who is also the Music Director of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs The concert featured highlights from the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah, as well as selected Christmas songs and carols in the second half. Three amazing soloists were featured throughout, including Geraldine McMillian (soprano), John Easterlin (tenor), and Vaughn Fritts (bass-baritone), alongside the Orchestral Arts Ensemble of Queens.
The performance was wonderful, and the church was an incredible space to record in. Built in 1939, this massive stone church has a great sound and reverb for days! People spend good money on plug ins that try and emulate spaces like this, so it was fantastic to record in the real thing. Congratulations to the ensemble on an amazing concert!

The Hofstra Chorale & Chamber Choir concert was a great success! Everyone, including the Hofstra Brass Ensemble did a wonderful job. The Cathedral of the Incarnation is such a great sounding space and the group definitely made the most of it!
