This past Sunday, I had the great pleasure to record the annual Christmas concert performed by the Sacred Music Society of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Forest Hills, NY. At the helm was Maestro David Close, who is also the Music Director of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs The concert featured highlights from the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah, as well as selected Christmas songs and carols in the second half. Three amazing soloists were featured throughout, including Geraldine McMillian (soprano), John Easterlin (tenor), and Vaughn Fritts (bass-baritone), alongside the Orchestral Arts Ensemble of Queens.
The performance was wonderful, and the church was an incredible space to record in. Built in 1939, this massive stone church has a great sound and reverb for days! People spend good money on plug ins that try and emulate spaces like this, so it was fantastic to record in the real thing. Congratulations to the ensemble on an amazing concert!
A brand spankin new set of Neumann KM 184s have officially joined the Segado Audio ranks. Really excited to start putting these through their paces and capturing some amazing sounds!!
I am quite terrible at keeping this section updated, but rest assured I've had a busy few months!
If you are looking to book a recital recording, please let me know as soon as you can so that I can make sure I have your date reserved. Spring fills up very quickly!
Out of the many projects I've had over the past few months, one of the most exciting to be a part of was the inaugural performance by the eVoco Voice Collective! I just recorded their Spring concert after recording their first performance back in November. This group is really special, and features some of the most talented singers on Long Island. Please go over to their site and check them out, or even better, try and make their next performance. I assure you that you will not regret it!

If you haven't already, PLEASE go buy and share This Condition's final EP Sessions over on Bandcamp. They did such an amazing job on this, and I had the priviledge of recording/mixing the final two tracks on the album. They are great guys who can write seriously catchy tunes. Looking forward to the next steps they each take!
Things have been quite busy here at the studio! Spring has held many amazing sessions and events!
As always, spring is the busiest time for recitals and this year has been no exception! The amount of work and effort being put into these performances is clearly paying off, as these have been some of the best recitals I have recorded!
Recently, I finished up some sound design/mixing work with Mitch McCarthy on a new work of his called Making Ends.An "audio trip from Brooklyn to Manhattan via NYC subway, Making Ends will be performed live in Miami's one-of-akind outdoor audio space called the New World Soundscape. The piece features a surround track (being played through a massive horseshoe of around 150 speakers) which has you traveling through various spaces, passing "busking musicians" who will be performing live. The project was an excellent study in surround effects and mixing which I was very pleased to be a part of. The piece is set to premiere this fall.
Though I always enjoy the opportunity to work with the gentleman of This Condition, it is weird to see them go! They are parting ways, but I had the honor of recording and mixing two tracks for their final release. Please check out their bandcamp page, and share this amazing music with everyone!
This past weekend saw the latest performance by the Hofstra University Chorale and Chamber Choir, under the direction Dr. David Fryling, which was amazing as always. A CD of their performance can be ordered via the Store, as well as previous performances.
Feeling very lucky to be working with such amazing talents these days. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must return to the massive amount of editing/mixing to do!
Last night saw another amazing performance by the Hofstra Chorale and Chamber Choir, directed by the one and only Dr. David Fryling.
If you did not have a chance to pick up an order form, you can order copies of the recording in the STORE.
Congrats on a wonderful performance!
Here is the first of the songs from This Condition's acoustic sessions that I recorded. I really enjoy what they did on this tune and they really made it their own. Those boys have a great vibe happening. Sean O'Kane directed/shot the video, with TC's very own Chris Castellino doing the editing. Check it out! Share the good times!
Here is the preview video of the acoustic sessions that I recorded for NY band This Condition (thiscondition.net). These were some really great tunes to mix and they are awesome people to be around in general! Check these guys out if you haven't already!
Just finished up some recordings that I did for the guys in This Condition. What a great project to mix! They definitely had me tappin' my toes the whole time for sure. Here's a preview from the session. Excited for them to reveal the final product!

The new year is upon us, and that means lots of editing! The Hofstra Chorale & Chamber Singers CD Orders have shipped, so keep an eye on your mailboxes! The CD turned out great thanks to a great performance in an amazing space. The natural reverb in the Cathedral of the Incarnation is really wonderful.
I am finishing up some work from December and then recital season will be upon us soon enough. If you are interested in having your recital audio/video recorded, head on over to the Contact page and shoot me an email!
