Things have been quite busy here at the studio! Spring has held many amazing sessions and events!
As always, spring is the busiest time for recitals and this year has been no exception! The amount of work and effort being put into these performances is clearly paying off, as these have been some of the best recitals I have recorded! Recently, I finished up some sound design/mixing work with Mitch McCarthy on a new work of his called Making Ends.An "audio trip from Brooklyn to Manhattan via NYC subway, Making Ends will be performed live in Miami's one-of-akind outdoor audio space called the New World Soundscape. The piece features a surround track (being played through a massive horseshoe of around 150 speakers) which has you traveling through various spaces, passing "busking musicians" who will be performing live. The project was an excellent study in surround effects and mixing which I was very pleased to be a part of. The piece is set to premiere this fall. Though I always enjoy the opportunity to work with the gentleman of This Condition, it is weird to see them go! They are parting ways, but I had the honor of recording and mixing two tracks for their final release. Please check out their bandcamp page, and share this amazing music with everyone! This past weekend saw the latest performance by the Hofstra University Chorale and Chamber Choir, under the direction Dr. David Fryling, which was amazing as always. A CD of their performance can be ordered via the Store, as well as previous performances. Feeling very lucky to be working with such amazing talents these days. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must return to the massive amount of editing/mixing to do!
